Identifying an absolute value statement as true or false. Can be used as individual handout work, or as a pair and share activity. Four versions of the activity sheet can be copied so that different versions are given to students in random order. After students use a pencil to mark the statements as true or false, students should be asked to find a partner with the same version and compare answers. As they compare, students should color true statements they agree on with a colored pencil. Statements they disagree on should be discussed and if they cannot come to an agreement, they should ask the teacher or another student for hints. False statement spaces should not be colored.
