This scheme of work was designed originally for year 9, and aims to embed some art and design key concepts: colour, composition, and abstraction. There are contextual links throughout with key artists being: Beatriz Milhazes, Piet Mondrian, Georgia O'Keeffe, Henri Matisse and Antoni Gaudi.
The starting point for students abstract compositions is natural forms (fruit and vegetables) and there is a handout provided that students work from initially.
Each lesson has a powerpoint and any handouts needed are included in the presentation - saving you lots of preparation time!! There are seven lessons in all, and the scheme can easily be adapted to fit the time frame you have available. Students enjoy this scheme of work and respond well to the learning involved.
