Suggestions for Use
This product consists of 270 Word Wall Cards complete with definitions on each card. These colorful academic vocabulary cards cover all aspects of language arts, including reading, grammar, and writing. You may laminate the cards and keep them as one page cutting off the excess trim only, or cut them apart into individual cells after laminating.
I cut my set apart into individual cells or cards and then placed those cards that were used daily or almost daily up on my cabinet doors. On a weekly basis I added those cards that I would be using during that week to a separate cabinet door. It is good to have the meaning handy to refer to when introducing a skill or lesson.
One of the ways I have also used these cards is to let the students work in groups to play a version of “I Have…, Who Has…? The students are each given 4 or 5 cards. One by one they call out the definition or meaning of the word on their cards, and the student who calls out the correct word or phrase gets to keep that card. This continues as the students “play” one card at a time. The student who ends up with the most cards is the winner.
I have also provided you with 9 blank cards just in case you think of a word or phrase to add.
