This power point focuses entirely on Standard L.11-12.4.b which asks students to identify and correctly use patterns of word changes that indicate different meanings or parts of speech (conceive, conception, conceivable).
I show one word each Wednesday and the students come up with as many versions of the word as possible. I import the power point into my Promethean Board (Active) software so that students write the words on the board. I printed the power point out and gave the "key" to a student so he or she could say how many options there were.
The whole process takes about 15 the first day ... doing the practice and the first word. After that, each Wednesday takes about 5 minutes.
