Please preview for an idea of what the chart will look like!
I’m sure you’ve heard of a Clip-Chart. If not, you can search through Pinterest and found a countless number of examples. Essentially, a clip chart is a behavior management tool… & I’ve put a spin on it to create a student AR (Accelerated Reader) display!
Give each student a clothespin. You can spray paint them for a fun look, write their names or assign student numbers. When students reach 10 percent, they receive their clothespin and clip to 10 percent. Every 10 percemt after, students clip up! This also serves as a tool for you to see how students are progressing!
What happens after students reach 100?...because the chart only goes that far! This will inevitably happen in my classroom. I have 2 suggestions. One, students receive a new clothespin & their old one goes onto the “Hall of Fame” to show the student has made 100 percent. Another idea is the student will review a plastic gem sticker to put onto their clothes pin, signifying the 100 percent, and beginning back at 10.
Perfect for any classroom with the bright colored chevron background and the clipart of kids and animals reading!
