Ready, Set, Solve. These Acceleration Word Problems helped my students work through multiple steps to solve for acceleration. In the first part, they describe the meaning, formula, and examples of acceleration. Next, they read the word problems, break down the information, and solve for acceleration. The design of this lesson was to get the students beyond the plug and chug mentally that many associate with formulas. I also provided a detailed answer key for teacher reference. The key can also be used as a handout to help your students facilitate a group discussion or to check their answers. I hope this activity will get your students ready to solve.
