Some of these worksheets have graphs that separate the words into syllables.
I use very simple language (in English) to explain the accent rules and repeat these rules on each worksheet. Each worksheet goes over one rule at a time: Diphthongs, breaking the diphthongs, words that end in a vowel, n, or s, Words that end in a consonant, strong vowels, words that end in -cion and a list of words like el, tu, mi and si that have different meanings depending on if there's a written accent or not.
Since accents are very difficult to comprehend at first, it takes things step by step and can be used for Spanish for Spanish speakers as well as advanced Spanish students learning the rules for the first time.
As of 2015 I have added a few more practice worksheets, teacher lessons that the teacher can put on the overhead, as well as two quizzes.
