This purchase is for an activity that teaches students about accepting others, showing empathy and embracing differences. This activity is in the form of an advice column. There are 6 letters to an advice columnist and students must respond to the letters as though they are the writers giving the advice. There are 3 sets of 2 different letters that go together. The two letters show each person's perspective of a single situation; totally 6 different letters. Letters include topics about learning differences, socio-economic differences, and disabilities.
This is a great activity for students to work on individually or together. It is great for a class, small group or even individual. I like to only give each person or group/partnership one letter and then read them all (letters and advice) aloud so students can see how they fit together and understand the importance of showing empathy and accepting others.
