The Accountability Talk iPad helps to guide students in their classroom speaking. Here’s how it works. Students will press an app on their iPad. Whichever app they press, they must begin their speaking with the sentence starter. For example, if Sarah presses the “I discovered that…” app, she must complete the sentence. She could be reading a story and she could tell her partner, group, or class, “I discovered that the characters in the story were nervous about the terrible storm.” There, Sarah has formed a generalization by what she read in the text. I hope this is helpful and fun as you use it in all subject areas of your classroom.
