The accountable talk stems are used throughout the day as a way for students to express their ideas, knowledge and understanding through meaningful conversations.
In my classroom, we introduce a couple of stems at the beginning of the year during our classroom meeting and gradually introduce other stems as the year progresses.
Agreement, disagreement, clarification, confusion, confirmation and extension stems are included.
