This is an easy and fun way to help your student start having meaningful conversations with each other. Communication between students is especially important for the project based learning in common core. I have used it every year in my classes, as young as 1st grade, introducing one sentence frame at a time and providing opportunities for the kids to practice. Before long they are having intellectual, thoughtful conversations, and know how to agree and disagree with each other and involve others. The "people" icons are where a name is said, "lightbulbs" indicate an idea", and the "thought bubble" is an explanation. I have uploaded it as a JPEG so that you can print it via photo sites (such as costco or snapfish) into a poster form, or print smaller versions for students to have.
