Classroom Posters to Help Explain the Achievement Levels
I first saw a set of classroom posters for this purpose in a colleague's classroom several years ago and immediately thought, I need to do that too! I usually introduce these posters with our first big project of the year - and use them to anchor our discussion in which we start co-creating success criteria for the assignment.
I have found the "ice cream sundae" analogy to work in a wide range of groups - from Grade 1 to Grade 6, though I suspect it would work equally well in a middle-school or high-school classroom.
Tips for Printing:
- If you have a colour printer, print pages 3-8
- For black and white, print pages 9-14
- I printed my set on cardstock, laminiated them to last, and attached magnet strips on the backs so I could display them on my chalkboard/whiteboard for easy reference throughout the school year
I hope this helps!
