This 2-3 Day lesson allows students to use close reading within heterogenous groups to analyze the key advancements on the Renaissance. The instruction begins with students taking guided notes (the are differentiated for different level learners/ ELL's) on the Renaissance. Following this, Students will be assigned one of three readings in this packet and will then collaborate with their group members to distinguish the main points of each reading, filling in a provided graphic organizer along the way. The assessment is differentiated in content, process, and product, where students create their own "Classroom Renaissance" by picking one of the outlets that they learned about, and bring it to life in their own way. Students receive extra credit if they make their product current, by incorporating elements of today's society into their Renaissance product.
