This edit-able lab sheet is great for an air pollution lesson with a weather and climate unit. During this lab, the students complete a brief pre-lab reading which provides a quick background on air pollution and the pH scale, collect their data and draw conclusion. This activity is great for Spring when rain and snow occur in the same week, or may require you to plan ahead and save some snow-melt. Required supplies: distilled water, snow-melt, rain water, pH testing strips (check the aquarium aisle or pool store), small containers and paper towels.
This lab was completed in a 45 minute period in an urban school. Pre-lab answer key included, all other answers will vary.
