Hi! This is a lab sheet for a lesson on differentiating between acids and bases. Designed to be set up around the lab with twelve different stations, students will work individually or in partners to move from station to station, making a hypothesis about each substance (whether it is acidic, basic, or neutral), then testing the pH of each substance using litmus paper. Students will record their guesses along with the actual pH results in a data table, and are then asked to write a paragraph telling their results and formulating a conclusion.
This is a great lab for an introduction to chemistry unit, or as a fun conclusion. Few to no outside purchases need to be made to set up this lab, as you likely have most of the necessary test items in your kitchen already!
If you like this lab and are satisfied with it, please rate me! :) Also, be sure to check out my other science lessons posted on TpT! Thanks, and enjoy! ~Kristy Gross
