Students will travel around the classroom making predictions as they use their senses to experience acids and bases. This is great to be used as an introduction to a new unit! Get students up and moving around with this activity. Students will be instructed to taste things, feel things, smell things, and look at things then make predictions. Is the substance an acid or a base? After every student has experienced everything, meet as a whole group and discuss their predictions. This will lead into a discussion about the properties of acids and bases.
