Students will identify the pH values of three unknown clear liquids using cabbage juice as an indicator.
Put three clear liquids in three different beakers.
Put three empty test tubes in a rack at each station.
Put a beaker of cabbage juice at each station.
A dropper needs to be in each beaker.
(Boil the cabbage the night before so it is ready for the day.)
Students will measure and place a small amount of each liquid into the test tubes. Liquid A will go into Test Tube A.
Students will add a few drops of cabbage juice into each test tube. The liquids will change colors.
Students will compare the test tube colors to a pH scale to determine the pH values of each liquid.
All notes will be kept in their interactive notebooks.
