This Microsoft Office Powerpoint is designed to help students create graphic organizers.
This powerpoint assumes that the students have read Across the Wide Dark Sea by Jean van Leeuwen and My America: Starving Time by Patricia Hermes.
The powerpoint shows students basic outlines of each story and then asks them to develop a Venn Diagram comparing the two stories. Then the students are asked to work with a partner to develop a Bubble Flow Chart using the same information. Social Studies in Reading. Both stories are told from a child's point of view while traveling to the New World from England.
