As part of the beginning of the year actives I do with my students I love to make acrostic bookmarks with their names. The reason that I use their names is because I adore the book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes.
Since this book helps teach us that everyone has a name that was picked just for us, the acrostic poem fits right in. We brainstorm words that help describe who we are and then turn it into a bookmark. I laminate all the bookmarks and add a little ribbon to the top. I am telling you, the kids love them and really use them all year long!
I have included bookmarks for students that have names 3 to 9 letters long. However, I did also include a blank bookmark in case you need one!
