This project-based Expressive Color Animal Secondary Art Lesson is a great way to teach students about the elements of Shading, Texture, Proportion and Expressive Color. This includes a powerpoint that includes the learning objective, the exact process with student examples in process and many final examples of my students expressive colored animals.
This is a great intermediate lesson using acrylic paint, providing the opportunity to work with acrylic in a way where most students can be successful. This lesson is best taught after teaching the basics of color mixing and color schemes.
