Act 5 of Romeo and Juliet is the crux of the tragedy. I really focus on the details of the resolution so that my students can reflect on the elements of the entire play - comprehension, analysis, literary terms, plot and character development, theme, and etcetera.
The Act 5 reading guide contains anticipatory questions to get students thinking about debatable aspects of the play, comprehension and analysis questions to guide their thinking, cause and effect questions to help them reflect on the decisions characters made, figurative language and literary term identification to enrich their reading experience, and open-ended response questions to reflect on what you have read and discussed together.
This Romeo and Juliet Act 5 reading guide is aligned with numerous common core standards and is wonderful for students who appreciate a challenge as it will ask them to think deeply about what they are reading. If you're looking for a tool that will help students to delve into meaningful, engaging, and thoughtful analysis and reflection of the Bard's work, this is it.
This reading guide is directly aligned with my Act-by-Act Figurative Language and Literary Terms resource
This reading guide is also sold as part of a larger Romeo and Juliet reading guide bundle
