Have you Filled a Bucket Today? I read this book to my students every year. It talks about acts of kindness filling the imaginary bucket we carry around. The idea is that everyone has a bucket and they are filled by receiving and giving compliments and doing random acts of kindness. To recognize students in my room, I have a spot where these slips can be found. Students tell another student's name and what they did that was kind. Once a week I read off the slips, we all clap, and I post the slips on a bulletin board in my room. Once a month I take the slips down and pass them out to the students who earned them.
