57 Activities to try!
A few years ago I was seconded by my school board to write a series of nutrition and active healthy living based activities that connect to curriculum for elementary grades.
The purpose of these activities ( which were part of a booklet for each grade containing these and other health related activities) was so that teachers could go directly to a resource which saved them research time, provided them with purposeful activities for their curriculum and grade level and so that each grade level had entirely different activities from the others primary to six. This was meant to prevent repetition that so often happens with science and health outcomes through the grades..
For the purposes of consolidation I have combined grade levels and made two documents. One document contains the primary to grade two activities I designed and the other ( also presented on TPT) contains the activities for grades 3 to 6. As we know full well, a grade is often just a sign on the door so all of the activities p-6 could be used and/or adapted to your students at any grade level.
There are 57 activities p-2 and 85 activities 3-6. WOAH that's a lot!
Though you may not use all of the activities as there are so many, you will definitely find several that suit your grade level and curriculum.
Many of these make great center activities, homework assignments, small group activities, class challenges and project assignments.
These activities are all original and have all been tested in classrooms. Because they are generally interactive in nature they are enjoyable to watch or listen to as they unfold.
Nothing helps a teacher more than appropriate, curriculum related and hands on activities that can be pulled out and used with little prep ahead of time and lots of opportunity for follow up afterward.
