This PowerPoint presentation is a great way to talk about lots of different topics from academic skills and active listening to social skills.
Using this presentation for your guidance lesson, you can easily help students to improve their social skills, improve their success in school, and help them to improve interpersonal skills. It is also a platform that helps you to explain that good friendship skills include thinking about others and self-control.
This presentation has 12 slides and includes links to a very cute Sesame Street video of Cookie Monster learning how to use active listening to learn a new skill. The video runs approximately 5 minutes. There is another link to a video that shows how to utilize an adapted game of Simon Says to use as an activity.
A second activity is included to help to practice the skill. Additionally, there is a 3rd activity that can be printed and utilized with students who are able to read at a 2nd or higher reading level that is a fun way to practice active listening.
This lesson has lots of alternative ways to present the information to your kids.
I would schedule 30 minutes for this lesson and one activity.
The PowerPoint is customizable and includes comprehension questions to support you in your lesson. The presentation includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
