Tasks included here help student writers and readers to use and play with active verbs
in ways that teach to their writing strengths. Rather than find all 100 hidden words, instead I usually have teams race against time for a set duration of game.
Active verbs help readers and writers to add punch through actions,
and fast paced action is vital to good writing. That’s where this game comes in. It also teaches students to use different parts of their brains to link new information (or what they’re learning) onto old information about sentence structures (or something they already know).
Great authors strategically position action into their writing
to build interest and add suspense, And similarly, your students will learn to write and edit action scenes with greater ease.
Rather than locate every action verb hidden in the puzzle,
it’s more important to play with the word list, race against other teams and enjoy the tasks here that familiarize students with prepositions and how they’re used.
Hopefully these ready-to-roll brain-based materials
will benefit your learners and leaders as they do mine at middle, secondary, university levels and beyond.
Do follow my TpT site
and keep up with brain-friendly materials to enhance your class.
