Bundle Description

Print & Play!

Quick oral activities to use the first week back after Summer Holidays, the Tuesday back after Thanksgiving, the Monday back after Christmas, the Monday back after March Break, and the Tuesday back after Easter.

- Each student has their turn to come up to the box (or hat or bucket), pull out a question and read it to the class.

- To answer OUI, students stand up.

- To answer NON, students sit on the ground (or remain seated at their desks).

- The student who asked the question then tallies up the OUI and NON answers and jots it down.

- At the end, the question that had the most OUI answers is deemed the most popular activity of Thanksgiving / Christmas / March Break / Easter. And, consequently, the activity with the most NON answers is deemed the least popular activity of Thanksgiving / Christmas / March Break / Easter.

Sample questions:

> "Pendant les vacances, as-tu patiné?"

> "Pendant le congé de Pâques, as-tu fait une chasse aux oeufs?"

> "Pendant la fin de semaine de l'Action de grâce, es-tu allé en marche avec ton chien?"

> "Pendant le congé de mars, as-tu mangé de la pizza?"

150 question strips in total: UPDATED SEPT 2018: (30 for Summer Holidays, 30 for Thanksgiving, 30 for Christmas, 30 for March Break, 30 for Easter). Please note that some do repeat themselves in some of the sets (ex: Pendant.... as-tu joué dehors?), but not many.

Simply print, cut and place in a box (or hat or bucket).

Extension: Integrate some math by creating tally charts and/or a bar graph of student answers.

Takes approx 25-30 minutes to play one of these activities in class. Created for Grade 5 French Immersion. Would be fun in a Core French or Francophone classroom as well. Practices the correct sentence structure for asking a question.

Don't resort to the boring pencil and paper journal entry: "Pendant le congé, j'ai...". Get your students up, moving and talking French! It's way more fun!
