Description

This collection of word work templates can be used with any word list! They come in handy through the year to add some fun to practicing spelling words, sight words, math or theme vocabulary, or any other words you want to practice.

The activities are simple, but highly engaging and challenging.

Simply copy the template for each student and provide them with a list of spelling or sight words to focus on. These can also be paired with the Phonics Spinners listed below (also from Phonics Bundle 5).

Switch the templates every two weeks in your literacy centers and you'll have enough for the entire year!

How to Prep: Choose the templates you with to use and copy a class set. Choose the word list for students to use. That's it!

How to Play: Students follow directions on the activity using their list of words (ie: spelling words, sight words, etc. You can also use the Phonics Spinners listed below!)

  • Counting Letters - Sort words according to number of letters
  • Texting Words - Write words and texting number
  • Flip and Spell - test memory of words under flaps
  • Popcorn Words - Choose a crumpled up word and write on the list
  • Box Words - write words in letter boxes
  • My Code Words - Write words in code according to secret code
  • Shape Words - fill each shape with multiple copies of the same word
