The common core places a lot of emphasis on non-fiction books. This is one non-fiction book that the students will enjoy. It is graphic in nature but I have yet to meet a student who didn't enjoy this book. In fact, my students are often disappointed that there isn't a film version. I have however shown my students clips from the film Mommy Dearest and compared the abuse in that film with the abuse in A Child Called IT.

Check out the preview. If you have any questions just ask.
