This two page document is designed for 3rd-5th graders who have parents that might want ideas of how to support mathematical thinking at home. There are numerous strategies listed and explained, such as cooking which includes reading and measuring, working on time and elapsed time related to things families are doing at home, and counting change in stores.
The best part of this is that it doesn't require any worksheets for you to find, copy, and correct and will help families spend more time together! Win, win!!
Please note that this is written from my perspective as an elementary teacher and the mother of a four and six year old.
