These language arts activities are designed to follow each act in the Adapted Script For Shakespeare's Comedy Twelfth Night by K. McCreary. Included are true/false exercises, comprehension questions (called Quizzes) that require both lower and upper level thinking skills, a mapping task, exploration of character traits, ongoing analysis of figurative language, graphic organizers, and a writing project for each act. The writing projects include letters from one character to another, a compare and contrast essay using character analysis, diary entries using quotes from the play, and a newspaper article.

These materials have been used successfully by upper elementary through tenth grade. Students develop an understanding of the characters, plot, and language of the play. They also become familiar with the meanings and uses of figurative language.
