This is an online activity that centers around Japanese Internment during World War II. The four parts included are:
Part 1: Reading on Fort Minor's Mike Shindoa and what inspired him to write the song "Kenji".
Part 2: Directions on annotation (most students get enough of this in English class, but included a short version) and lyrics to the song Kenji
by Fort Minor. Student annotate the lyrics while they listen to the song. There are also 4 follow-up questions.
Part 3: Primary Source Analysis of Japanese Internment Camp Photographs (Need a computer this part...or can be done for homework?). Students look at 2 internment camps and answer 4 questions.
Part 4: Political Cartoon Analysis. Two cartoons included and students select 1 and complete the Political Cartoon Analysis Graphic Organizer. Or you could give them two charts and have them do both cartoons.
This is available in PDF and Microsoft Word (if you want to edit the document at all). Thanks for looking and check out my store if you found this activity helpful!
