This 5 page activity packet supports the vocabulary and structures taught in the Sr. Wooly song Me duele through a variety of vocabulary, interpretive, interpersonal and one presentation activity. You will need to have your own copy of the song. It is available through iTunes or if you have a subscription to his site, www.srwooly.com. His site also has a music video for the song and other resources.
The following activities are included in this packet:
Activity 1: Students illustrate the vocabulary words and expressions.
Activity 2: Students read statements with the vocabulary used in a context to determine if they always, sometimes or never do the activities.
Activity 3: Students read a sentence and figure out the correct vocabulary word needed to complete it.
Activity 4: Students practice the vocabulary with Quizlet online using flashcards, a matching game, a fill in the blank exercise, space race and more. Activity 5: Students read a selection of vocabulary words or expressions and have to determine which one doesn’t fit and provide a reason why it does not.
Activity 6: Students complete a cloze activity for the song.
Suggested activity after the song is watching the video if you have it.
Activity 7: Students draw a picture of Sr. Wooly and write sentences about what hurts as sung in the song.
Activity 8: Students complete a reading activity where they have to answer English questions from the song.
Activity 9: Students use provided vocabulary to create a dialogue between Sr. Wooly and his doctor about what hurts and some suggestions.
Activity 10: Students answer questions about themselves with vocabulary related to the song and then use the same questions to talk to their partner.
