This activities in this handout allow for students to enjoy the film without having to listen for discreet details. In the first exercise, students are asked to name and describe the main characters. Novice learners can make a list of physical and personality traits while intermediate learners can write in complete sentences. Second, students are asked to compare the main character before and after she met the old man. Third, students are asked to describe four images of friendship from still shots of the film (they could do this in English or French) and finally, students are asked to imagine their own drawing to put in the narrator's drawing of a hat.
