-Presidency of John Adams PowerPoint
-Adams’ Foreign and Domestic Policy Issues guided notes graphic organizer
-Adams’ Policy Issues Cause-and-Effect activity
Instructions / Teaching Notes:
-The following lesson consists of two parts, though both parts can be utilized as student work (independent or partner) or as guided lectures. The PowerPoint aligns with both guided notes graphic organizers.
-First, using the “Adams’ Foreign and Domestic Policy Issues graphic organizer,” students can work independently or with a partner to answer the questions and complete the timeline. The instructor may also use the PowerPoint to go over the material after students have had an opportunity to answer the questions or the instructor may present this information as a guided lecture and have students take notes.
-Second, using the “Adams’ Policy Issues Cause-and-Effect graphic organizer,” students are asked to determine how various concepts caused (or led to) other concepts (full instructions and an example are included in the PowerPoint). Again, students can complete this activity on their own or the instructor can guide them through the activity as part of a class discussion.
