This adaptations picture card sort has 12 picture cards and 12 Who Am I? adaptation description cards where students match the correct cards. Use them in science centers, with nonverbal learners, as partner work, individually, or whole class. I created this for a Utah 4th grade unit involving animal and plant adaptations but isn’t specific to only Utah. Then have students write their matches on the Student Work Space sheet. An answer key is included. The cards describe adaptations for: grizzly bear, tiger salamander, beaver, eagle, porcupine, deciduous and coniferous trees, prickly pear cactus, rattlesnake, cougar/ mountain lion, prairie dog, and scorpion. The adaptation key words are bolded. I even use these for a 5th grade genetics unit on adaptations and specialized body structures. This is easy to make. Print, cut, and go! This is a perfect match to my Adaptations Foldable Note!
