This activity gives the students to practice and imagine what kind of adaptations an organism would need to change given different events that could happen.
First the student will choose an organism (suggested ones are lady bug, frog, coyote, cactus, salmon)
Then the students will do a little research about that organism and find out what it eats, where it lives, etc.
Then the students will draw a picture of their organism.
Then 4 events will "happen" The students must think about what adaptation that organism needs to make in order to survive that event. They will write the specific adaptations in the right box (growing fur, changing what they eat, etc) and then draw a NEW picture of the organism in the left box.
The 4 events they will be analyzing are
Volcano, Tsunami, Wild Fire, and Human Population Boom
