Students will investigate common adaptations of organisms whether it be physiological, behavioral, or anatomical. They will also consider various methods of locomotion, survival strategies, life cycle characteristics, communication methods, and how intelligence plays a role in evolution. This is an outdoor activity where students observe animals and plants in nature to determine how they are suited for living in their particular niche. This can be adapted to be a computer research/internet activity if you are not on a fieldtrip or in close proximity to this national park. Students will record habitat, species, and adaptations or organisms.
