This 48 page script retains much of Shakespeare's language, including many of the quotes that are familiar to us today. It is shortened and simplified for easy access by upper elementary through high school aged students. It has also been used in ninth and tenth grade RSP English.
Classes have used this script successfully for puppet shows, improvisational sets, selected scenes, and full productions.
Children enjoy the humor of staid Malvolio prancing around in yellow stockings to please Olivia, the terror of Viola and Sir Andrew as Sir Toby pushes them into a duel, and the confusion of the twins being mistaken for each other.
Also available is a complete set of activities to be used while reading the play. They include true/false, comprehension questions, graphic organizers, analysis of figurative language, and a variety of writing projects. This adaptation and the accompanying activities are part of a set produced by K. McCreary.
