Mix it up a little and have some fun reviewing your decimal unit with this “print and go” scavenger hunt. Play some fast tempo music or set the timer to get kids pumped up for the challenge. Post the 20 Add and Subtract Decimals Scavenger Hunt task cards around the room or hide them to increase the challenge. Either way, students will have fun solving these problems as an end-of-unit review. This lesson was designed with fifth graders in mind; however, it can be used for fourth graders needing a challenge or sixth graders needing a review. Through this unit, students will practice the following skills: (1) rounding decimals (2) estimating sums and differences by rounding (3) solving word problems involving decimals (4) adding decimals, and (5) subtracting decimals.
