Tape the yardstick (meter stick) to the table top. One player shuffles the deck and places it face-down in the center of the table. Each player starts with her marker at the 0-point of the yardstick.
The first player to the left of the shuffler turns the top card of the deck face-up and moves her marker along the yardstick the length indicated on the card.
If a player makes a mistake that is noticed by another player, she must go back to the starting point. Some students have found it very useful to use two markers for each player, one to mark the starting point of a move, and one to mark the ending point.
