26 Self-Checking (with QR Codes) Task Cards
**Please download the Preview and try scanning before purchasing to ensure you won't have any issues scanning the QR codes.**
Students love technology! Use it to your advantage. Your students will love using their smart devices to scan the QR codes to check their answers.
Copy cards onto cardstock. Laminate. Cut apart.
Provide students with copies of the recording sheet.
The recording sheet provides students with a place to show their work. Once a problem is solved, students can use a smart phone or tablet with a QR reader to scan the QR code. The correct answer will show on the screen. If the student solved the problem correctly, he/she colors in the smiley face in the work space and proceeds to another question. If incorrect, the directions on the recording document ask student to color a U-turn sign which means they should try again. If they miss the same question twice, they should color the unhappy face and move onto the next question.
A traditional answer key is also provided.
These task cards can be used in many ways:
(1) Play "Scoot"--Place one card on each desk. Students solve a problem and then scoot to the next desk.
(2) Place at a work station.
(3) Hole punch the cards and hang on a ring. The students can then bring the cards to their desk for extra practice when they have free time.
(4) Use in tutorials. Ask students to estimate answers before trying to solve. Watch as students as they work, and ask them to explain their steps and justify why they think their answer is reasonable before allowing them to scan.
