This is a Memory game to help students understand adding ten as a mental math strategy. Each page has 8 cards (a total of 24 cards). You will need to cut out the cards along the black lines. Each card has either a +10 fact or a sum. There is a matched sum for each +10 fact. Sums are color-coded for odd and even numbers (blue = even and red = odd).
Directions for Play:
First, shuffle the cards and lay them face down on the table.
Students will take turns playing. The player whose last name comes first in the alphabet may start and then play will move to the right.
When it is your turn, turn over two cards. If you have a matching +10 fact and sum (ex. 125+10 and 135), you will keep the pair. If you do not have a matching +10 fact and sum, play moves on to the next player.
The player who has the greatest number of matching +10 fact and sum pairs will win!
