This activity is great for practicing adding three numbers (addends).
Print 4-5 sheets of cards per deck. Laminate and cut them out. I like to store my cards in $1 plastic soap containers, but Ziploc bags work great as well.
Students each begin with 15 cards (more or less for shorter or longer game play). Students arrange these cards in rows of three to make a rectangle with all cards face down (each player has a rectangle of their own).
Students both turn over their bottom three cards and add these cards together. Whoever has the larger sum keeps all 6 cards for points.
Students continue until they have broken down their entire rectangle.
The student with the most points at the end is the winner!
