A fun card game that helps students practice adding and subtracting fractions!
Shark Attack Card Game allows students to practice adding and subtracting fractions in a fun and exciting way! All problems have the same denominator.
This is a great activity to use in your Math Centers or small groups. My students have a blast playing this game as it always keeps them on their toes!
Card Game includes:
Adding Fractions using models and fractional numbers
Subtracting Fractions using models and fractional numbers
Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers using models and fractional numbers
Students play by placing all of the cards in one pile. They then go in turns picking up a card and answering the addition or subtraction fraction question. If they are correct, they keep the card and if they are wrong, they need to put it back. The game is exciting because it includes 20 surprise cards such as "SHARK ATTACK!" where the student has to put all of their cards back into the pile, or "DOLPHIN DELIGHT" where the student gets to take another turn. Goal of the game is to end with the most cards.
My students absolutely LOVE this game and are always asking to play it even after our Fraction Unit has ended!
