Directions for Playing the Game Print off cards onto cardstock, laminate or put into sheet protectors for durability. Note: Sheet protectors are cheaper than laminating and they can be easily replaced when they get icky. Players each need a different colored counter or a different colored dry erase marker. Use a wash cloth to wipe off the cards in between games. Place game board in front of students (up to four) on table or playing surface. Students roll dice to see who goes first, Student rolls dice and then adds eight to the number the just rolled. The student then finds the number on the board and either marks the square with an X using the dry erase marker or places a token on the square.
The next player follows the same pattern and the other players do the same. The first player to get four squares in a row either down, across or diagonally is the winner. This game is good for centers as it does not require much directions from the teacher or adult in charge. This game requires students to work cooperatively in a group setting. This game is good for a lower achieving student to work with the higher achieving student so that the higher achieving student can assist the lower achieving student.
