40 task cards about compound sentences including selecting the best coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) and comma placement.
*The first 12 cards are multiple choice cards asking students to select the best coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) for the compound sentence. This section includes a recording sheet and answer key.
*The next 12 cards are multiple choice cards asking students if the sentence needs a comma. If it needs a comma, it asks students where it should be inserted. This section also includes a recording sheet and answer key.
***Note- some of these sentences are not compound sentences and will not need commas. (For example- You can drink orange juice or grapefruit juice in the morning to get a healthy serving of vitamin C.)
*The last 16 task cards are challenge cards. They have sentences used in the previous cards; however, they are not multiple choice. These cards have two sentences, and students are asked to combine the two sentences. Answers will vary on this section.
