Adding Fractions (Unlike Denominators) DIGITAL TASK CARDS
This product includes 2 digital activities:
*Digital Task Cards using Google Slides
*Automatic Grading Tool using Google Forms
Digital Task Cards
The 25 cards include practice with:
*10 cards using visual models
*5 cards estimating with benchmarks
*5 cards working on word problems
*5 cards using the standard algorithm
(Addends are only fractions, not mixed numbers, but the sums may be mixed numbers.)
This activity saves automatically in the students' Google Drive and can be completed in one sitting or multiple sittings whether at home or in the classroom. Great option for independent practice, centers work, homework, test review, and more!
Google Forms Grading Tool
When students finish the Digital Task Cards, they can open the Google Forms assessment and input their answers to each of the problems. Students will get instant feedback on their responses and teachers will save time and hold students accountable at the same time!
In the classroom, it is often very difficult to give students meaningful practice during their independent time and hold them accountable for their work.
With this product, both problems are solved! Students will see which problems they are having difficulty with and teachers will have data to help reteach or enrich students instantly!
This product contains a pdf with the link to access your digital task cards and grading tool, an answer key, and steps on how to share and use the task cards with your students and implement the activities in your classroom.
Standard that are included
Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, a/b + c/d = (ad + bc)/bd.)
Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole, including cases of unlike denominators, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem. Use benchmark fractions and number sense of fractions to estimate mentally and assess the reasonableness of answers. For example, recognize an incorrect result 2/5 + 1/2 = 3/7, by observing that 3/7 < 1/2.
