This is a cut and paste activity to review the addition of
fractions. This activity covered converting improper fractions to mixed numbers, converting fractions to decimals and recognizing the word form of a mixed number as a decimal. I tried to make all of the fractions pretty close so the students, which grasp concepts easily and know how to recognize if a denominator is a multiple of another denominator, will still need to do the work in order to solve.
Your student will convert and show their work on the page labeled “work space”, which I copied on the back of the hat page. Find all of the matching equivalents and paste onto the hats in correct spaces labeled. Your students could color their hats a fun pattern if they like after they have completed the activity.
An answer sheet is included and is an easy one to check too.
