This product is adding fractions with unlike denominators using models. It is differentiated because the models are already drawn, and are broken up into the appropriate number of pieces. It is up to the students to then divide the models in order to make the size of the pieces all the same essentially finding a common denominator. Once the pieces of the fractions are all the same size meaning that they found a common denominator, the students can shade and add the fractions together! This can be used for homework, classwork, guided and independent practice, and assessment.
