This was practice for adding integers but also for explaining their strategy (we use the adding poem which we've found works really well for our 7th graders). This is what we expected for their Flipgrid quiz. On the Flipgrid quiz we want students to explain their thinking so we can know if they actually learned the strategy and were not using the calculator.
